Welcome Back to my Blog – If you are NEW here then HI – I’m Tina, a freelance makeup artist from Surrey, United Kingdom.
I want to share with you my 2 Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorials.
This year I decided not to be conventional and do a traditional ‘glam’ look with the typical bold red / pink lip, mega winged eyeliner, sharp contouring, baking and highlighting NO WAY !!!
2018 for me is about challenging myself to the MAX and creating something with a difference.
In my FIRST makeup look for Valentine’s I created a Love / Hate Look inspired by a deconstructed Yin Yang with both halves across my face with black and red glitter and a few hearts to compliment the look. I drew a black heart on my lips and a touch of Matte Me Sleek Liquid Lipstick in the colour Fired – I think this really helped to finish off the look.
There’s a thin line between love and hate and for me, no matter whether you are having problems with a person you really care about make sure you remember that loving them and being mindful of your true feelings for them is what matters the most.
Below is the makeup used for the look:
Snazaroo Face Paints: Red & Black
Loreal True Match Golden Cappucino Foundation
Red Go Glitter
Star Gazer Fix Gel
Maybelline Precise Black Eyeliner
NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner: Red
Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick: Fired
Black Lipgloss from Ebay
And..for my second makeup look for Valentine’s I created a Glam Dripping Skull. I’m not too sure what made me decide to do this look, but I was inspired by rhinestone makeup application and I wanted to add some sparkle with a difference.
At first I wanted to make the top half paler than the rest of the my face to contrast with the skull – so I used the palest shade of foundation I could find and mixed it with some white Snazaroo face paint. The shading underneath the ‘drips’ was the hardest part to make it look as realistic as possible – I tried to make it darker near the edges and added a splash of pink glitter on the ends.
I thought Vday = hearts so I wanted to add some around my eyes and with the amazing Fenty Beauty Galaxy Palette I dabbed some glittery shades on top. And, of course, with a few Glitter Army gems I wanted to add them for the teeth to really get that skull vibe out there !!!!!
Here’s the makeup I used for this look:
Snazaroo Black / White / Red / Pink Face Paints
Fenty Beauty Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette
Urban Decay Smokey Eye Palette
Go Glitter – Red
Glitter Army – Skull Teeth
Maybelline 24hr Stay Matte Foundation
Soap and Glory Black Liner
Stargazer Red Eyeshaodw
Sleek Matte Me – Rioja Red Liquid Lipstick
