MAC Pure Orange Colour Corrector ~ How to Use and Review

~Amazing Product :-)~

It has finally dawned on me- from watching countless YouTube tutorials and testing many different techniques- that there IS a way to minimise / totally get rid of “The Panda Eye Syndrome”  How I hear you ask?  The answer is MAC Studio Finish Cream Corrector in Pure Orange.  I love this MAC product – it’s easy to use and 100% does what it says on the little tin.

Firstly let me show you the ‘science’ behind the colour correcting:

As you can see from the colour wheel the orange colour is opposite the blue. Those dreaded dark circles are in fact blue pigments underneath our skin causing us to look totally drained. When you use an ‘orange cream concealer’ you are actually – wait for it – CANCELLING OUT THE BLUE PIGMENTS – and hiding those dark bags.

Now for the fun bit – How to Apply:

  1. Start by priming your entire eye area with Benefit POREfessional primer.  I recently bought this product from Debenhams and OMG – it’s perfect for getting right into the creases underneath the eye area and creating a perfect, smooth base for cream products.

2.Once you have created the base use your ‘ring finger’ (as this is the lightest for application) and dab the MAC Pure Orange Concealer underneath the eyes where those cheeky bags are.  Don’t use too much – just enough to cover.  Then use a Beauty Blender – I prefer Real Techniques and begin to work the corrector into the eye area using a dabbing motion.

3. Next, use Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer  to cover the orange concealer and highlight in a triangle shape.  Use the Beauty Blender to dab the concealer into the eye area.

That’s how you cover those dark circles ladies 🙂

Below is a BEFORE and AFTER of my yukky dark eye (OMG) and the amazing results from MAC Pure Orange Concealer
